धारा 454
repealedLurking house-trespass or house-breaking in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment
Whoever commits lurking house-trespass or house-breaking, in order to the committing of any offence punishable with imprisonment, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, and shall also be liable to fine;

यह धारा, धारा 453 में दिए गए आधारभूत दंड से अधिक दंड निर्धारित करती है जब छुपा हुआ या बलपूर्वक प्रवेश किसी अन्य कारावास-योग्य अपराध का साधन हो; यह दर्शाता है कि घुसपैठिए का उद्देश्य मात्र अनधिकार प्रवेश या बिना आगे के आपराधिक लक्ष्य के साधारण तोड़-फोड़ से अधिक खतरनाक माना जाता है।
