धारा 239
repealedDelivery of coin possessed with knowledge that it is counterfeit
Whoever, having any counterfeit coin, which at the time when he became possessed of it, he knew to be counterfeit, fraudulently or with intent that fraud may be committed, delivers the same to any persons or attempts to induce any person to receive it, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years, and shall also be liable to fine.

यह धारा जानबूझकर नक़ली सिक्के को असली बताकर चलाने की हरकत को लक्षित करती है, खासकर तब जब व्यक्ति को शुरुआत से—अर्थात जब उसने उसे प्राप्त किया—यह पता था कि वह नक़ली है। कपट के आशय की शर्त यह सुनिश्चित करती है कि कानून निर्दोष रूप से चलन में आई उस मुद्रा को नहीं, बल्कि जानबूझकर की गई धोखाधड़ी (पहले से नक़ली होने का ज्ञान होते हुए किसी को ठगने के लिए उसका उपयोग) को दंडित करे।
