Deposit instead of recognizance
When any person is required by any Court or officer to execute a bond or bail bond, such Court or officer may, except in the case of a bond for good behaviour, permit him to deposit a sum of money or Government promissory notes to such amount as the Court or officer may fix in lieu of executing such bond.

सर्वांना विश्वासार्ह जामीनदार मिळेलच असे नाही; म्हणून या कलमात व्यवहार्य पर्याय दिला आहे—सरळ रोख रक्कम किंवा सरकारी रोखे न्यायालयात ठेवणे. सद्वर्तनाचे बंधपत्र यापासून वेगळे ठेवले आहे, कारण त्यांचा उद्देश पुढील काळातील आचरणावर सतत देखरेख ठेवणे हा असतो; एकदाच केलेली आर्थिक ठेव त्याऐवजी पुरेशी ठरत नाही.
