Adjournment of proceeding
In every case in which a commission is issued under section 319, the inquiry, trial or other proceeding may be adjourned for a specified time reasonably sufficient for the execution and return of the commission.

जुना दंड प्रक्रिया संहिता (CrPC) मधील कलम 289 पासून आलेली ही तरतूद मुख्य खटला अनिश्चितकाळ रेंगाळू नये यासाठीची उपयुक्त व्यवहार्य नियम आहे—आयोगाची कारवाई इतरत्र सुरू असताना खटल्याला फक्त प्रत्यक्षात जितका आवश्यक असेल तितकाच विराम देण्याची परवानगी ती देते.
