Obscene acts and songs
Whoever, to the annoyance of others,—
(a) does any obscene act in any public place; or
(b) sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.

ही तरतूद सार्वजनिक शिष्टाचार आणि सामायिक सार्वजनिक परिसरातील लोकांचे आराम व सुरक्षितता यांचे रक्षण करते, जेव्हा कुणी जाणीवपूर्वक इतरांना चिडवण्यासाठी किंवा दुखवण्यासाठी अश्लील वर्तन किंवा भाषा वापरतो.

धरण: फक्त प्रत्यक्ष शारीरिक अश्लील कृत्येच या तरतुदीत अंतर्भूत आहेत; शब्द किंवा गाणी यांचा समावेश होत नाही.
घटना: ही कलम/तरतूद अश्लील कृत्ये आणि अश्लील शब्द, गाणी किंवा आवाज — जे सार्वजनिक ठिकाणी किंवा त्याच्या आसपास इतरांना चिडवण्यासाठी केले/उच्चारले जातात — या दोन्हींचा समावेश करते.
