Indian Penal Code, 1860
Section 453
repealedPunishment for lurking house-trespass or house-breaking
Whoever commits lurking house-trespass or house-breaking, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, and shall also be liable to fine.
Why this exists
This section establishes the baseline penalty for the concealed and forceful forms of trespass, higher than for ordinary house-trespass because these forms involve either deliberate concealment from the person entitled to stop the intruder, or a forceful method of entry, both signs of premeditated wrongdoing.
