Section 460
Warrant with whom to be lodged
When the prisoner is to be confined in a jail, the warrant shall be lodged with the jailor. C.— Levy of fine
Why this exists
This provision specifies precisely where the physical custody warrant must be kept once a prisoner is confined in a jail, ensuring the jailor, who has day-to-day responsibility for the prisoner, holds the legal document authorizing that confinement. It corresponds to section 420 of the earlier CrPC.
